the spring Adorn is out! February 8, 2007
I’m so excited that the new Adorn* magazine is on newsstands today! It’s so pretty and spring-y, which has been a lovely pick-me-up, especially since it’s been below freezing here in Connecticut all week. My thin West Coast blood isn’t used to it, to say the least. I don’t know about you, but I could sure use a pretty flowered dress about now, even if there’s snow on the ground and I can’t actually wear it.
I especially love the fun projects Kayte Terry made (and styled!), Nicole Smith‘s shrink art jewelry, Tricia Royal‘s Wardrobe Remix column, and, well, all the prettiness really… and I’m so thrilled that my crafty guide to Portland** is part of the issue! That was one of the most fun pieces I’ve ever written, and honestly, the hardest part was fitting everything I like there into three pages. I love the way it turned out though!
I also wrote up my regular Crafty News & Notes column, and got to spotlight everything from the upcoming Stitch ‘n Pitch baseball season to the new Adorn projects photo pool on flickr this issue, along with a shout-out to CROQ zine. Woo!
*Speaking of Adorn, if you’re one of the first 50 people to submit your answers to their new reader survey, you’ll get a free subscription… and don’t forget that they’re running that amazing $9.99/year subscription special, online only!
**Speaking of Portland, I’ll be there next week (yay!) and the ladies of PDX Super Crafty will be doing a super fun valentine-making party at the Hollywood library on Tuesday, February 13. Please come make some cards with us! You can get all the details and pre-register on the library site here. I’ll also be heading to Portland Church of Craft on Sunday the 18th to make crafts with felted sweaters… all the info on the meeting is here. Hope to see you!
