Valentine’s crafty February 12, 2007
A quick note: I just posted my review of Lisa Congdon‘s show at ReForm School on the Adorn blog, if you’re interested in checking it out!
So it somehow escaped me until about now that Valentine’s Day is two days away… oops. Luckily I scooped up valentines to send my family in January, adorable gocco-printed sock monkeys from Jek in the Box, and I found something small, cool and vintage for Andrew (or really his alter ego AC) on eBay last night. But in case any crafting time presents itself in the next couple of days, here’s what I’d love to make…
Kathy Cano Murillo, the Crafty Chica herself, says that Valentine’s Day is her favorite holiday… and let me assure you, she’s not kidding. She’s posted a whole slew of things to make on her blog this month, like Love Song Pillowcases and Love Note Candy Pouches (pictured here!).
And don’t miss her wonderfully exhaustive list of twenty original Valentine’s Day projects, from Soldered Heart Necklaces to Cigar Box Love Shrines.
The CRAFT blog has plenty of great ideas, too — heart-shaped fabric yo-yos, stamped candy bags, and three great projects together: photo crafts, reverse-engineering a heart cookie cutter, and whipping up a Queen of Hearts playing-card wrist cuff. Nice!
For your house, Lish of Handmade Detroit offers this v-day wreath idea, and Sarah created a Martha-inspired card wreath — cute!
And if you’re in Portland, don’t forget that we’re hosting a PDX Super Crafty valentine-making party at the Hollywood Library tomorrow night (2/13), and you can pre-register by calling the library — all the info is here.
Any Valentine’s Day projects I missed? Please add them to the comments!
