kits and parties September 26, 2013
I’ve been cutting tons and tons of fabric and batting to make coffee-cup cozy kits for the Sewing for all Seasons party tomorrow night and three years after everyone else, I’m now completely addicted to Downton Abbey. Thanks again to Amy for the awesome label – I think it all turned out so cute! I chose four of my favorite coffee-brown prints for the patchwork fabrics: Lizzy House pearl bracelet, Denyse Schmidt posies, Robert Kaufman metro living circles, and Anna Maria Horner chocolate lollipop.
Speaking of project kits, along with the four I made up to give away, Michelle is offering something lovely as a prize for the party – a kit to make the pretty Sewing Organizer she designed for the book!
I love this project – thank you so much, Michelle!
I am also super excited that Nancy quilted my rainbow charm bracelet quilt this week and as soon as I bind it, I’m bringing it over to Modern Domestic as lucky #7 in my quilt show! I can’t wait to finish it and share the whole thing but this is a little peek at the beautiful quilting over one block. My first quilt finish of 2013, finally!!
Hope to see you tomorrow night, thank you to everyone who has had kind words about the book, or is planning to come hang out with us… I can’t wait. Thanks to the kindness of Rachel, I even have a high school wrestler-style lace-up ankle brace to wear instead of the big old moon boot I’ve been clomping around in the last five weeks. Getting there, slowly but (I hope) surely.
